The photograph shows rebuilt “Gobbler” , No. 656 with a two ring boiler, the dome on the front ring and condensing apparatus. The Trust’s 789 will feature the GER Prussian Blue livery as seen above complete with a F6 style cab.

The Trust is working closely with The Great Eastern Railway Society’s Lyn D. Brooks to ensure that our locomotive portrays as accurately as possible features of the original GER 789

No.789 was rebuilt from M15 to M15R in July 1912, and one of two such rebuilds to have a side-window cab, as on the G69/F-6 class
